Torello Farm

With a relaxed and welcoming farmers’ market feel, Torello Farm is a central hub for all your local produce, bursting with seasonal fruit, vegetables, award-winning grass-fed beef and free-range lamb, pies and ready-made meals, olive oils, dips and preserves, sourdough bread, goat’s cheese, fresh flowers and more. Shopping at this iconic Peninsula farm gate is a wonderfully wholesome experience where you can leave your shopping list behind and discover what seasonal delights the local farming community has provided each time you visit.

Concepts of sustainability and working in harmony with nature are at the heart of Torello Farm’s philosophy. When you shop at this farm gate you can be sure that what you’re purchasing has been produced close by, which means it hasn’t travelled crazy food miles, it’s so super fresh you can really taste the difference and it’s of really high nutritional quality.

As a small-scale beef and lamb farmer, Torello Farm practises ‘nose to tail’ consumption of its meat. Each week it processes whole animals and encourages customers to step outside their usual repertoire of meat-buying to try lesser-known cuts. These often-overlooked cuts have the most wonderful flavour but might just need a slightly different cooking method. They’re also much better value than prime cuts such as eye fillet and ribeye, and by eating them you're contributing to a more sustainable food system.

If cuts such as brisket or intercostal rib strips and steaks such as hanger, flat iron or popeseye seem a little too unfamiliar, the friendly staff are always on hand to help advise on how best to cook them, and Torello Farm’s website and social media pages offer a plethora of recipes by Fiona Hammond to inspire and guide you. The quality of this 100 per cent grass-fed meat was recognised in the 2023 delicious Harvey Norman Produce Awards, where Torello Farm was awarded the From the Paddock national trophy for its Belted Galloway beef and Dorset Down lamb.

Beyond shopping for produce, Torello Farm is a unique destination for some special farming and food experiences. Starting in January, you can enjoy the magical adventure of wandering through a bright and joyful field of sunflowers and picking your own blooms. This special event is for a very limited time, so sign up to Torello’s newsletter if you want to be the first in the know. Hands-on workshops on fermenting vegetables, building wicking beds and learning more about Torello’s beef production are also available throughout the year.

Torello Farm is leading the way with educational farming, regenerative practices and small-scale farming collectives that enable truly sustainable approaches to healthy eating and mutually support local businesses. By shopping at this special destination, you’re getting behind the Peninsula’s food economy and helping to keep our farmers viable and sustainable, and the food you eat will be nourishing on so many levels.
